About this course

The Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a professional who is well versed in the foundational elements of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology, who leads limited improvement projects and / or serves as a team member as a part of more complex improvement projects lead by a Certified Green Belt or Certified Black Belt, typically in a part-time role.

A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt possesses a thorough understanding of the elementary aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Method including competence in the subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, and Control (DMC). A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt understands how to implement, perform, interpret, and apply Lean Six Sigma in a skilled yet limited and / or supportive context.

Course Length

Our Yellow Belt training program is conducted over a period of 2.5 consecutive days. This includes eight (8) hours of theory on day one and 8 hours of theory on day two (2). A thirty (30) question final exam is administered during the morning session on day three (3) and a low level simulated Lean Six Sigma exercise which is conducted to reinforce learning. This equates to 24 hours of training time.

Candidate Requirements

There are no experience or education requirements for the Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. The course is designed and aimed at candidates who have a small role, interest, or need to develop foundational knowledge and to work as a team member on a project.

 

What will Participants Learn

Execution

Detailed analytical tools and methodologies that are involved in the execution of the Lean Six Sigma process.

Integration

The knowledge as it relates to the integration of Lean Six Sigma methodology and the DMAIC Strategy (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control).

Syllabus

A formal Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is granted only after the following: • Successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training • Completion of Six Sigma by Design’s Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt examination
