About this course
The Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a professional who is well versed in the core to advanced elements of Lean Six Sigma Methodology, who leads improvement projects and / or serves as a team member as a part of more complex improvement projects lead by a Certified Black Belt, typically in a part-time role.
A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt possesses a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma Methods including competence in subject matters contained within the phases of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC). A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt understands how to implement, perform, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma at a high level of proficiency.
Six Sigma Green Belt spends some of their time on process improvement teams. They analyze and solve quality problems, and are involved with Six Sigma, lean or other quality improvement projects. Typical participants include those responsible for defining, launching, and executing Lean Six Sigma projects in support of or under the supervision of a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

A formal Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is granted only after the following: • Successful completion of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training and completion of a Lean Six Sigma project of which the results are subject to review and approval by a Six Sigma by Design instructor. • Completion of Six Sigma by Design’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt examination
